New product  – Softwood wool!

More people every day are starting to think about tomorrow – how to invest today, to save money and resources tomorrow. Energy will never get cheaper, so we need to think how to preserve it, without harming the nature!

Here is a great solution – insulate your home with tested methods, like using the ecological softwood fiber insulation material – softwood wool!

Why choose softwood fiber insulating material aka softwood wool?

The differences in heat insulation depend on three factors:

 1) AIRTIGHTNESS

Wood fiber is very dense. Due to its density of 50 kg/m3, air flow (convection) in the insulating material is prevented. The airtightness provides the material with high heat capacity. At 38kg/m3 density, Softwood wool’s air permeability is 0.41(0.96 per 26kg/m3).

2) HEAT CAPACITY

Heat capacity is the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of 1kg of a material 1 degree Celsius. If this value is high, it means the product has high inertia. Often it is regarded as a good accumulation function. Fiberglass has a heat capacity of 670 J/kg, mineral wool – 806 J/kg, but wood fiber - approximately 1500 J/kg.

3) CONVECTION

Airflow inside the insulation usually causes problems like energy loss, risk of condensation, and damage to rungs and other parts of the construction. Due to its high density and low air permeability, wood fiber has very limited internal convection. Wood fiber consists of cellulose fiber and the so called plant fiber. They also consist of air, which prevents the damage caused when all the energy in the insulation system is not being released by wind. The natural convection in glass fiber occurs at 15 degrees Celsius temperature difference, in rock wool – at 22 degrees Celsius temperature difference,as a result, there is 25% more heat loss but in wood fiber – it doesn’t occur at all.

Because of that, as a new product , we offer wood fiber insulating material from the Danish manufacturers Danish Wood Insulation ApS and Thermocell A/S  softwood wool -

HEAT INSULATION WITH ADDED VALUE!
